During the past 24hrs, as preventive measures, minimization of other emergency consequences, firefighting and cleaning areas from the old munitions, 1829 come outs have been made by the emergency response units of the Ministry of Emergencies. There have been 120 emergency responses.

As a result of the undertaken measures, there have been rescued two people, saved 39 constructions and seven tractor vehicles. Pyrotechnic teams from the Ministry of Emergencies extracted and disposed of 35 artillery shells and six mines dated back to WWII.

Local Level

Donetsk Oblast

Three people died (2004 year birth child among them) as a consequence of fire that started at 2036hrs, November 26 at the private flat on fifth floor of the five-stored apartment house in Yenakiyeve Town. The investigatory cause of fire is indiscreet handling with the fire during the smoking. The fire was extinguished at 2108hrs by the three subdivisions of State Firefighting Service.

The operational group of the Main Directorate of the MOE in Donetsk Oblast worked at the site.

Object Level

Lviv Oblast

Five people (children 1998, 2001, 2008 year birth among them) suffered as a result of carbon monoxide intoxication that occurred at the flat on third floor of the three-stored apartment house at 0115hrs, November 26 in Lviv City. Sufferers in the moderately grave condition were admitted to the hospitals.

The operational group of the Main Directorate of the MOE in Lviv Oblast worked at the site.

Cherkasy Oblast

Five people died and two people sustained injures as consequence of the two cars collision that took place at 0800hrs, November 26 at 213 km of Smila-Kamyanka road. Sufferers in moderately grave condition were hospitalized to the Central District Hospital.

The operational group of the Main Directorate of the MOE in Cherkasy Oblast worked at the site.

Altogether for the past 24hrs, 81 traffic accidents were registered in which 26 people died and 83 people got injures.

Donetsk Oblast

The fire with the further spreading to the upper floors appeared at 0812 hrs, November 26 at the second floor of four-stored "Makiyivskyy Univermag" building at Gorbachova Str., 26 in Makiyivka Town. As a result, manufactured goods of tenants and window frames were destroyed; the walls of building were covered with lampblack. Neither victims nor sufferers are reported. The fire was localized at 1305 hrs and than liquidated at 1608 hrs by the 25 subdivisions of State Firefighting Service.

The cause of the fire and estimated losses are being ascertained.

Unclassified Emergencies

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Three persons were intoxicated with the carbon monoxide due to violation of the flow-type calorifier installation rules. The occasion took place in the private flat on fourth floor of the five-stored apartment house in Kryvyy Rih City at 0320hrs, November 26. Sufferers in satisfactory conditions were admitted to the city hospitals.

The operational group of the Main Directorate of the MOE in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast worked at the site.

Summary of Emergencies

From the beginning of the year, there have been registered 278 emergencies, including 169 emergencies of industrial origin, and 109 emergencies of natural origin, in which 507 people died and 922 people have been injured.

Fires

According to available data, for the past 24hrs, there have been registered 114 fires, including 77 fires in the living areas, in which 15 people died.

Moreover, a fire took place in the business facility and there were 10 vehicle fires.

The fire destroyed 36 buildings, seven tractor vehicles and nine tons of forage.

The estimated loss from the fires is one million 365 thousand UAH, out of which 368 thousand UAH is considered as a direct loss.

Old Munitions Disposal

Kharkiv Oblast

25 artillery shells and four mortar mines dated back to WWII were disposed of by the pyrotechnic team of Operating and Rescue Service Training Center at 1345hrs, November 26. The above-mentioned munitions were found near Fedorivka Village of Barvikivskyy District during the ground works from November 21 to November 26 .

Altogether, for the past 24hrs there have been found 21 pieces of munitions, namely: two artillery shells, 10 mortar mines and 9 grenades dated back to WWII.

Levels of Radiation in Kyiv City and Kyiv Oblast

The radiation measures are stable. They do not exceed the norms in the ground and water. The average radiation level is 0,012 mR/hr in Kyiv, 0,012 mR/hr in Kyiv Oblast (the standard level is 0,050 mR/hr) and 0,012 mR/hr in Chornobyl (the acceptable threshold is 0,080 mR/hr).
